BREEDLOVE SOUND OPTIMIZATION

What is Sound Optimization and how does it work?

Breedloves goal is to make you sound better, and play better.  That’s what Sound Optimization will do! It can be a little technical and nerdy but it makes all the difference in the sound of your Breedlove guitar.

THE ELEMENTS OF SOUND OPTIMIZATION

THE TONEWOOD CERTIFICATION PROJECT.

Breedlove does not, and will not use clear cut trees ever – it’s this fact that proves they are in it for the long haul, and care about the world we all live in.  The ethical practices for acquiring tonewood not only are good for this planet, but it is peace of mind knowing your Breedlove has a history that can be tracked and vouched for, proving the guitars were sourced responsibly.

UNDERSTANDING VARIABILITY IN WOOD.

There’s variability in a tree, the top to the bottom of a tree is up to 30%. Every piece of tonewood is considered unique.  If this variability is not addressed, the modern acoustic guitar is not living up to its sound potential. The finest instrument builders in history understood tonewood variability. Iconic builders employed hand-tuning and voicing to shape and pair tonewoods capable of taking sound to the highest degree of perfection.

OPTIMIZING THE POTENTIAL IN TONEWOODS.

If the hands which carved the greatest Stradivarius Violins strummed the guitar of today, they would ask, “Why isn’t the modern guitar living up to its potential?” Breedlove’s coveted Sound Optimization™ Process and hand voicing makes it possible to handcraft guitars which account for tonewood variability. The result is stunning sound and tone strummed from guitars that play so well, you just can’t put them down.
