Kelly has been working in the music industry in several different ways for 43 years. This includes playing professionally as a percussionist and on drum set, as well teaching private music lessons. He is well versed in all musical genres and has worked in the communities of Portland/Vancouver and up to the Seattle area. Kelly has years of experience as a music technician and music store representative. He has been an asset in helping many of the local high schools/middle schools directing jazz bands, marching bands and concert bands. He is originally from Bremerton where he graduated with an associates degree from Olympic College and ended up in Vancouver after graduating in percussion performance from Central Washington University in 1982. Kelly’s countless hours of sectional help at schools, private lessons and performance make him extremely well rounded as a representative for Music World. He understands what directors and students need to help them get the most out of their educational experience.
Mr. Steven Robertson retired from teaching after 44 years of being a band instructor.  He has taught in California, Oregon and Washington State.  While in California, he worked with the acclaimed Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps as the director of their ‘B’ Corps program.   A former DCI music judge, Steve is an active high school marching band judge in the Northwest marching circuit.  He is also an active music arranger and has hundreds of tunes that he has written for his own bands and many other bands that have commissioned his work. As a percussionist, he has played professionally his entire life and has also studied to become a trumpet player.  As a result he has joined several local concert and jazz bands.  He also plays french horn in the Southwest Washington Wind Symphony. Mr. Robertson is excited to be working for Music World and he looks forward to assisting band directors with their music programs.

Also available for new instrument purchases is our Rent-to-Own program. Customers can purchase an instrument on this contract and make monthly payments interest free* until the final payment is made. Once completed the customer will own the instrument. This is a very convenient and popular option for those wanting to take home a brand new instrument the same day.**

Used instruments are another option for purchase that are very popular. Although the brands available will vary at any given time, we make sure that each instrument has gone through inspection by one of our techs and any necessary adjustments and repairs will have been made before making them available for sale. Most used items are consignments and we regularly receive them in our stores.

For back to school and first time band students, we have care kits that are built to suit your needs for maintaining your instrument. They will include some instrument specific cleaning supplies, reeds for woodwinds, valve oil for brass and polish cloths for plated and lacquer instruments. We sell them at a discounted price compared to buying each accessory individually. Prices vary per instrument but have everything you need to get started!
