Lonnie has been playing for over 30 years. He got his start at age 9 studying piano and then guitar with 2 incredible teachers who are still teaching today. He continued his private instruction into high school where he attended San Francisco School Of The Arts for Vocal Performance. After a number of the obligatory rock bands in his art school days Lonnie was hired on to perform with the nation’s leading corporate entertainment act, The Pink Flamingos, and tour the world! He performed at fancy hotels, festivals, and performing arts centers around the globe. He then put on a cowboy hat and took up stage right to play Western Swing guitar with the award winning Western artist Syd Masters. After a decade of performing and racking up many frequent flyer miles and truck stop points it was time to head back to the woodshed. This time to delve deep into traditional roots and acoustic music. Lonnie apprenticed with a couple of the best veteran bluegrass and old-time pickers in northern New Mexico before moving to the Northwest where he currently calls home with his wife and two children. He now lives in Woodland, Wa playing in bluegrass groups and teaching private lessons of all the many styles he’s picked up over the years.
Lonnie teaches beginner to advanced guitar lessons and beginner to Intermediate Bass, Ukulele, and Mandolin Lessons for ages 7 and up. Adults and kids. He also offers instruction on digital recording, arranging, songwriting, music business, and music theory. And general musical coaching in a number of other areas that include Improvisation and soloing, basic accompaniment for aspiring singer-songwriters, effective practicing techniques, custom chart transcriptions (sheet music and tab), and making learning music fun at all stages!
